First TEVMOT Information Meeting Held in ASO 1st OIZ

Within the scope of the Project for Promoting Energy Efficient Motors in SMEs (TEVMOT), the first of the information meetings hosted by ASO 1st OIZ was held on 23 January, 2020.

Among the attendees of the meeting were Dr. Mustafa Kemal Akgül, Head of Department of Productivity Applications at the Directorate General of Industry and Productivity of the Ministry of Industry and Technology; Cüneyt Çalık, Director of the ASO 1st OIZ; Kamil Sunal, Deputy Director of the ASO 1st OIZ; Hasan Akgümüş, Enterprise Development Manager at KOSGEB; Ahmet Koç, KOSGEB Ankara Sincan Manager; Project team members of the Ministry, and UNDP Project experts, as well as many industrialists from the region.

The meeting started with an opening speech be Cüneyt Çalık, Manager of the ASO 1st OIZ, who spoke about the aims of the project, and stated his pride at the field work having started in the ASO 1st OIZ. Dr. Mustafa Kemal Akgül took the stand next, and touched upon the Ministry’s works on energy efficiency in motors, sharing with the industrialists the determination of Minister, Mustafa Varank to replace industry’s inefficient electric motors with energy efficient motors.

Following the opening speeches, Erik Gudbjerg, an International Technical Consultant in the TEVMOT Project, made a presentation on the necessity of motor replacement, giving examples of good international applications of efficient electric motors. Dr. Asuman Sönmez, a Finance Consultant of the TEVMOT Project, made a presentation assessing the financial aspect of energy efficiency. Following the presentations of the project consultants, Hasan Akgümüş, SME Development Manager at KOSGEB, talked about the Energy Efficient Electric Motors Replacement Support provided by KOSGEB. The final presentation in the meeting was made by TEVMOT Project Manager Mustafa Salman, who gave general information about the TEVMOT Project and about how to apply for support for motor replacement.

After the presentations, the meeting was concluded with a question and answer session, in which the questions of the industrialists in the ASO 1st OIZ were answered.

Information meetings, to be held in the selected Pilot OIZs – Adana Hacı Sabancı OIZ, Antalya OIZ, Bursa OIZ, Gebze OIZ, Izmir Kemalpaşa OIZ and Uşak OIZ – will be held in February.
