Project for Promoting Energy Efficient Motors in Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Turkey
Replacement of inefficient electric motors used by industries with high energy-efficient motors means the start of a significant transformation that will contribute to the Turkish economy with energy savings of 34 billion kWh per year. The TEVMOT Project supports such significant transformation in SMEs, and provides technical consultancy and guidance in the accessing of finance to encourage the more efficient use of energy, and the transformation to an economy with a lower carbon footprint. The project also promotes energy system efficiency, serving the purpose of “Preventing Global Warming and Climate Change” and supporting the efforts of Turkey in the climate change mitigation. To initiate this change, TEVMOT is carrying out pilot activities in seven selected OIZs.
